The cast of The Legacy Showcase
THE LEGACY SHOWCASE, PART I
The Legacy Showcase is a unique production that showcases productions from our upcoming season. We have scenes or "teasers" that run the gamut from comedy and drama to suspense. The topics range from family conflict and the pressures of young Black male youth to participate in gang violence, to a young pastor trying to focus on building his church and staying true to himself and God, while dealing with his meddlesome mother and the unscrupulous opinions and lifestyles of his obnoxious and "unruly" family, all of whom are pressuring him to stop being so straitlaced and uptight and find him a "hottie" to have fun and settle down with. Topics also include love, lust, adultery, and female dramatizations that deal with sensitive issues many women deal with today, including low self-esteem, domestic violence, and light-skin/dark skin issues. There is also a scene from the play "Butterfly", which is based on the best-selling book "To Bria, With Love", by Kenya N. Phifer-Jones and deals with the uncertainties and insecurities a young lady faces when deciding whether to stay with an unfaithful, emotionally abusive lover or leave. This Part I in a series that will conclude during the Democratic National Convention in September! This will be a dramatic event unlike anything you've ever seen and you will enjoy it! To top it off, we will have a scrumptious meal prepared and served with a hearty dessert for you to enjoy while you're watching the play! Don't delay! Purchase your tickets now!
*Please note that some of these scenes contain language and subject matter that may be unsuitable for children so parental guidance is suggested.
